Shanna Brown, M.D.

Dr. Shanna Brown is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery, including cutting-edge intraocular lenses such as Light Adjustable Lenses (LALs), in addition to pterygium excision surgery, YAG capsulotomies and peripheral iridotomies.
Dr. Brown earned her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She then completed an internship in preliminary internal medicine at University of Texas at San Antonio Health Sciences Center, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where she served as a Co-Chief Resident. Prior to her medical training, she earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Prairie View A&M University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
A strong clinical background in comprehensive ophthalmology and advanced surgical treatment, Dr. Brown has worked extensively in major hospitals and surgical centers across Texas. She is a trusted leader in the Texas medical community, recognized as a 2016 graduate of the Texas Medical Association Leadership College, which supports physician leaders in bridging the gap between clinicians, policymakers, and their communities. In 2014, she received a Physician Spotlight for Project Access Tarrant County, a local initiative that provides healthcare access to those uninsured and economically disadvantaged in Tarrant County. She is an active member in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the American Board of Ophthalmology. Outside of work Dr. Brown enjoys experimenting with new plant-based recipes, taking nature walks for exercise and reflection, and reading about personal development and wellness.
