Estefany Mendez, O.D.

Dr. Estefany A. Mendez is a board-certified, bilingual (English and Spanish) Therapeutic Optometrist and San Antonio native. She earned her undergraduate degree in Vision Science and her Doctor of Optometry from The University of the Incarnate Word, graduating from the Rosenberg School of Optometry (RSO). During optometry school, Dr. Mendez was one of four recipients of the Clinical Excellence award and consistently ranked among the top clinicians in her cohort.

Dr. Mendez is passionate about ocular wellness and preventive care, using the latest optometric technology to help patients achieve clear, healthy vision. She offers comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, and refractive surgery co-management. With extensive training in medical optometry, she effectively diagnoses and treats conditions like dry eye, infections, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma, successfully managing even the toughest patient cases.

Dr. Mendez is deeply committed to serving her community, both locally and abroad, particularly in Oaxaca, Mexico. She has worked with Prevent Blindness San Antonio and was an officer for Student Volunteers of Optometric Services to Humanity. During her time at RSO, she earned the Student Fellow of the American Optometric Association and served as a Laboratory Teaching Assistant. She is also an active member of the Texas Optometric Society and the American Optometric Association.

Outside of work, Dr. Mendez enjoys spending time with her fiancé, family, and friends, as well as participating in mission trips, traveling, and discovering new restaurants.
